The interview can be a tricky part of the job application, and is where many people falter. Here are some great tips as to how to make the interview to something you dread, to something in which you succeed.

1. The simplest, but often overlooked component for an interview is verifying your background check. Most legitimate employers institute an appropriate background check to ensure their future employees have adequate records. Before the interview run your own background check to determine if all reports are prepared accurately. Get a copy of your credit report, driving (MVR), and check with the court clerk if any crimes or offenses apply to you. Finally, be honest with the interviewer about your past. This will give you the opportunity to explain your story and avoid an immediate dismissal, as most employers have a “No Tolerance” policy with regard to fictitious claims.

2. Understand what the job is asking for and match your skills will those requirements. This will give you the reasoning tools necessary to rationalize why you are adequate enough for the position and identify your strengths in contingency to the job. If there are some gray areas in relation to these requirements be sure to ask the interviewer.

3. Note that non-verbal communication is effective in emitting character. Be sure to make good eye contact during the interview and keep your posture straight. This is to convey confidence in your interviewer to indicate that you possess the confidence and self esteem necessary for the job.

4. Make sure to dress appropriately and remember that it is much better to be overdressed than underdressed. Good clothing is an easy way to make a lasting impression.

5. Be informed on the company you are interviewing with and read about the current events to show enthusiasm for the job. Use your understanding of these issues to inform the interviewer of your interest. This is a simple way to distinguish yourself from fellow interviewees.

Follow this easy guide and you’ll be one step closer to finding yourself the perfect job.

Building your confidence for a successful job interview. These interview tips will help you achieve your goal of mastering the interview, and to use any known techniques more effectively. If you want to be perceived as confident then you must act the part, by mimicking successful people you will have no problem in winning over any employee. But first, you must know what confidence is.

Grab a Pen and a piece of paper

• Describe what is important to your about been confident
• Describe some common elements of been confident
• Describe someone in real life who shows confident traits
• Describe that person day to day actions
• Say what you currently do that is similar
• Define how your behaviors differ
• Identify what you have to do to copy there behaviors
• List the benefits of having confidence
By knowing your weaknesses you can begin to work out ways of improving them, by looking at a successful person and mimic them.

In today’s high speed world it is simply not good enough to be good at what you do. You have to be seen as good. Evaluate what your doing well, and where there is room for improvement. Maybe have a look at your behaviors and see what impact it has. Be AWARE of YOURSELF and your ACTIONS to make any changes in your life as some behaviors can have negative impacts on you. In most cases, most people are not aware they are doing these negative behaviors.

TIP: If your jacket button is undone; this suggests that your open to suggestiveness, if your jacket is buttoned up, you are showing that you have a closed point of view.

What if you could know what the other person is thinking? Would you be able to anticipate actions to make a good impression?. Reading body language is like reading a very big story of somebodies life. One word simply does not tell us the entire story and neither does one gesture. In order to read body language you need to consider three gestures from the list below.

• Facial expressions
• Posture
• Arm position
• Hand gestures
• Foot placement
• Stance

Facial expressions
• Arrogance; can be conveyed by the head tilting and the jaw thrust
• A forward tilting head indicates a critical attitude.
• The head cradle provides comfort and security and shows a sign of
dominance.
• The sideways glance shows interest (look out for this on the way out of the interview room)
• The sideways glance away from you can indicate a lack of trust (look out for this on the way out of the interview room)
• Dipping eye shows innocence

By seeing three of these gestures, you can safely be aware that the potential employee likes you.

The problem is that our true personalities often get overshadowed by our anxiety and nervousness. People tend to panic or become nervous when they meet their interviewers either because they start scrutinizing and analyzing every action of theirs from the interviewers eyes or they forget their own qualities and start trying to hard to impress the interviewer.

However, what they fail to realize is that when you are not being yourself, you tend to get uncomfortable and that shows! Therefore success in a job interview depends upon the confidence with you approach it. If you are self-assured your personality will shine through and you will have a good chance of making an impression in your interview. The following are two simple self-help techniques which can help you succeed in your job interview:

Visualization

You may have heard of sports persons visualizing excelling at their game the night before an important event or match. This helps them prepare their minds and bodies for peak performance. When you visualize something intensely your body and mind start behaving as if they are already facing situation being visualized, therefore when you visualize succeeding at something, your demeanor becomes that of a winner.

So, if you visualize yourself speaking confidently and expressing your opinions freely, your body language and mental state will change accordingly. Practice this visualization everyday before your interview and practice it again just before going in to meet your prospective employers.

Subliminal messages

People who become extremely nervous and tense during interviews may suffer from low-self confidence in general. This lack of self confidence may be the result of long held negative beliefs about oneself. Such beliefs tend to get firmly entrenched in our subconscious and start directing our behavior.

Therefore what we assume to be a natural trait (getting anxious in social situations or interviews) is actually a result of the beliefs stored in our subconscious. Subliminal messages can re-program your mind to get rid of interview anxiety and negative beliefs about yourself. The can make you more confident and allow your natural personality shine through in the interview.

The difference between success and failure is one’s state of mind, when you approach an interview in the right frame of mind; you are likely to bag the job you desire.
